Spending birthday weekend on dirt county roads, ca Spending birthday weekend on dirt county roads, car camping, long hikes, and leaf peeping. Those peaks just got a recent dusting of snow and they're just gorgeous. A not too shabby way to start my absolute fave time of the year.
RGB in nature. Also, Ice Lake is really that blue RGB in nature. Also, Ice Lake is really that blue y'all. No summit, but the lake was a very blue, very gorgeous, consolation price.

Latest post (link in profile) is about the White Desert in Egypt and why you should visit. Especially if you're looking for something beyond the usual tourist circuit.
Mia was rescued from a market in BSD. Found orphan Mia was rescued from a market in BSD. Found orphaned and starving, weighing less than 300 g, she's now a spunky and energetic 5 week old kitten. She loves to be held close when she's not going after dust bunnies.

Unfortunately I have to leave the country in 2 weeks so I'm desperately looking for a place for Mia to land. She's located in BSD, Jakarta but I can meet with potential adopter anywhere in greater Jakarta.

2 am wake up call, hours of navigating loose class 2 am wake up call, hours of navigating loose class 3 in the dark, breathing hard as you fight altitude sickness... As I get older I don't sign up for type-2 fun as much, but when I do, I hope to have a good crew to do it with. When you travel with a group of strangers, it can be a bit of crap shoot. But I got lucky in Pakistan and found myself among a group of good people to share the misery and the victories with.

I miss Europe. I miss the ease of travels, the rid I miss Europe. I miss the ease of travels, the ridiculously varied regions, the history, the food and wine, the vistas... I'm so excited that we finally pulled the trigger and booked a flight to Portugal next year.

Also, we climbed Tres Cime (the tallest peak of the three in the background in the pic) and it was the scariest climb we've done...bar none. Thanks for getting us down safely @albaxioutdoor
Ive been in Pakistan for over a week now and the o Ive been in Pakistan for over a week now and the only thing I can say is, "Wow, what a country!" - I've stepped foot on my tallest summit yet (17.5k ft), been given a surprise welcome reception where a whole village shower up, eaten a lifetime supply of dals and apricots, and more. I'll try to post more on Story now that Im back in cities - albeit still with very limited internet - so follow along if you haven't already.

Utah in winter checks all of my boxes:
✅ Quiet slot canyons exploration.
✅ Fluffy snow flakes and previous snow storms that make all the intricate details of sandstone towers and canyons stand out.
✅ Campgrounds with no reservations
📷: Ding and Dang canyon. We brought a 30m static and glad to have had it.

I even ended up with a souvenir: a bald spot from where I lost a chunk of hair on a windy rappel 😅 - lesson learned.

From my fixer who ended up showing me around Khartoum, to my Airbnb host who introduced me to the family of his student who ended up hosting me, a complete stranger, in their house, to the people on the bus who made sure I got off at the right place, and so many others who made me feel welcome with a wave and a smile and an offer of tea.

These genuine connections are what I seek for, but do not always find in my travels. I found them in abundance in Sudan. Sudan made me fall in love with solo traveling all over again.
